This past weekend we welcomed the start of August with the grand re-opening of yet another historic property at the Gage Hotel. Our little West Texas town provided the perfect backdrop for Tom Perini and Becker Vineyards to come out and celebrate our 1899, newly renovated, Captain Shepard’s House. Between the beautiful weather, the delicious meal, the delightful wine and great company, it was the perfect summer evening.
Chef Tom Perini prepared perfectly breaded catfish paired with incredible tartar sauce, Perini’s famous tenderloin, and bread pudding that made us weak in the knees. It was only fitting that we served up Texas’ finest, as that evening we welcomed guests from New York City who had come to celebrate a very special wedding at the Gage Hotel.
Dolly Shine’s music drifted through the rooms of Captain Shepard’s House and through the gorgeous garden where guests mingled and toured the property. We wish we could do it all over again. In the meantime, we have great photos to remind us of the fun we had.
