June 13: Pecan Lodge

At Pecan Lodge, Dallas’s most award-winning BBQ is smoked in a pit and steeped in time-honored tradition. What started as a little stand at the Farmer’s Market has grown up and is now a brick-and-morter in the heart of Deep Ellum. For one night only, the chefs of Pecan Lodge will sharpen their knives, fire up their grills and set-up shop at the Gage Hotel, creating a very special dinner menu for our guests.

July 18th: Biga on the Banks

San Antonio’s Biga on the Banks has a reputation for innovative New American cuisine. Led by chef and owner Bruce Auden, a native North Londoner, Biga on the Banks is well known for its adventuresome, original and creative menus. Recognized early in his career as one to watch among the new rising stars of regional cuisine, Auden brought a worldly fusion of influences to his brand of nouvelle American cuisine. For one night only, Auden and his team will guest chef at the Gage Hotel, preparing a special, pre-fix menu for our guests.

August 15th: Grilling in the Garden with 12 Gage

Serving Texas inspired specialties with a gourmet twist, the Gage Hotel’s award-winning restaurant offers a refined menu that changes seasonally and utilizes high-quality ingredients including locally sourced wild game, beef, fowl and fresh seafood served with vegetables and herbs grown in our own Gage Garden. This summer, head chef Brandon Waddell will serve a one-night pre-fix menu for our guests in the Gage Gardens, what will prove to be a very special evening under a blanket of West Texas stars.

With all that is going on at the Gage Hotel and in Marathon, TX this summer we feel so fortunate to have been featured in some  great publications.

Most recently, the Midland Telegram Reporter and  the Austin American Statesman wrote great pieces about the Gage Hotel and the grand re-opening of Captain Shepard’s House.

In June, the Gage Hotel held Grilling at the Gage and was featured in even more publications. It was wonderful to be featured in the Dallas Morning News as well as the Fort Stockton Pioneer and Big Bend Sentinel.

We can’t thank everyone enough for the continued support. We are so grateful to be a part of this Texas community who is constantly behind us!

Captain Shepard’s Grand Re Opening Event

Please join us on Friday, August 2nd as we celebrate the Grand Re-Opening of Captain Shepard’s House with a dinner under the stars featuring the iconic Texas Cowboy Cook, Tom Perini and Becker Vineyards. Tickets to the event are $75 per person and include Perini’s signature Steakhouse Dinner and wine pairings.

Built in 1899 in the classic colonial architecture style, Captain Shepard’s House was named after the founder of Marathon and originally served as a single-family home. Now completely renovated, the two-story five bedroom home, includes four common rooms and a two-bedroom carriage house surrounded by a gorgeous garden and traditional adobe wall.

Grilling at the Gage

Now that summer is upon us we are excited to be teaming up with Cowboy Chef Paul Petersen and Fall Creek Vineyards to host an evening of grilled food, great wine, and a gorgeous atmosphere.

On June 15th please join us for our fabulous event Grilling at the Gage. The evening will begin with a cocktail hour followed by a gourmet farm-to-table dinner.

That’s not all folks! Owners of the Fall Creek Vineyard Ed and Susan Auler will hold a wine chat with guests. Additionally, guests will enjoy a grilling demonstration by the grill master, Chef Petersen himself.

Tickets are $75 and include dinner, wine and demonstrations. Our historic site is sure to set the perfect backdrop for a night to remember.
